We promote the relationship between higher education institutions related to Methodist Churches on the African continent;

We collect, classify and disseminate information about higher education, research and services, particularly in Africa;

We promote cooperation among higher education institutions related to Methodism in Africa, in curriculum development, postgraduate training, research, quality assurance and other matters of special policy or practical interest to Methodist education in Africa;

We study and make known the educational and related needs of Methodist-related universities and other higher education institutions in Africa and, as far as possible, coordinate the means by which these needs can be met;

We organize, encourage and support public bodies for the dissemination and exchange of information and political dialogue on higher education issues;

We promote links with the international Methodist higher education community through cooperation with the African Association of Theological Institutions of The United Methodist Church (AAITIMU), International Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges and Universities (IAMSCU) and the General Board of Higher Education and of Ministry of The United Methodist Church.
